Supporting Our Community

The Coupeville Arts and Crafts Festival shows how people unite to benefit their community. Organization, management, and operation of this festival is carried out solely by local volunteers. All proceeds generated by exhibitor fees and commissions go back into the community. Since its inception, the Festival has provided over $1,000,000 in grants and scholarships to the Coupeville area and Island residents.

Grants

Art is how we tell stories, and as one of the oldest settler communities in Coupeville, we have a lot of stories to tell. The Coupeville Festival Association funds grants to local organizations in the Coupeville area that promote quality handcrafts and arts, ensure the cultural enrichment of our 98239 residents, and/or beautify and preserve the unique historical qualities of Coupeville.

As of 2023, we have given away $1,012,005.06 in grants since 1969.

Grants have helped preserve historic structures such as the Admiralty Lighthouse, funded important community events such as the Memorial Day parade and art tours, purchased supplies and teachers for youth art classes, and a wide variety of other projects that help make our town the beautiful place it is.

Scholarships

Each year, a designated portion of proceeds are awarded to volunteers who give their time to the Festival. Students of any age may apply, and funds can go towards any post high school educational institutions, be it college or university, trade school, apprenticeship, etc. There are four scholarships of $2,000 awarded each year.

As of 2022, we have given away $93,048.65 since 1991.
