The annual Coupeville Arts and Crafts Festival is planned and executed by a dedicated ALL volunteer organization.  There are many different types of jobs and opportunities, behind the scenes, and up front during the festival. Volunteers with a sense of community spirit and adventure may choose to participate in a variety of activities.  See the volunteer Job Descriptions below and help the Coupeville Festival Association prepare for our annual event.  Sign up for one hour, one day, or one week to volunteer with your friends and neighbors.  Your time translates to enhancements within your community!

Volunteer Job Descriptions
Art Gallery - Margaret Livermore Assist with pre-festival set-up; accept artwork prior to festival weekend; sell artwork during festival; assist with tear down Monday after festival.

Artists-in-Action - Koraley Orritt, Sharon Warwick Tent set-up and tear down; direct artists to their locations; other tasks as requested by the Committee Chair.

Booth Artisan - Grace Tiffany, Marilyn Dessert Artisan applications/logistics prior to and during festival; check-in Friday night /Saturday morning; help resolve vendor issues during festival.

CFA Staff Lunch and Raffle - Linda Devitt Manage the logistics for an after festival recognition luncheon. Manage the original artwork raffle during festival weekend.

Check-out - Mark Mouw Check vendors out on Sunday evening; acts as a liaison between vendors and check-out Committee Chair.

Children's Activities - Debbie Sherman Assist with children's activities and crafts Saturday and Sunday of festival weekend.

Food Booths - Leslie Franzen Set up/cover tables Friday and Saturday of festival; clean up Sunday evening (remove tables/chairs, etc.).

Hospitality - *Open Position Operate Hospitality cart early Saturday morning (6AM-10AM); assist with Sunday morning Vendor reception logistics.

Information Booth - Benye Weber and Joyce Fruick Communication central for vendors and festival volunteers; sell commemorative festival items; booth sitting to offer vendors a break (Sat/Sun)

Marketing - *Open Position The chair and/or members of this committee will focus on the promoting the Coupeville Festival Association and work in partnership with the Publicity Committee. The marketing committee will assist with press releases for festival meetings and events as well as entering calendar entries in the local press. Marketing will determine festival merchandise and pricing and will present ideas and costs to the Board for approval. Marketing may assist with gathering of festival sponsorships.

Recycling - Karen Fletcher Recycling takes place during the festival. The recyling team sets up seperate bins for bottles and cans in many locations within the Festival. Containers are on top the bins for the bottle tops. Bottle and cans are removed from the garbage cans during the Festival. At the end of each day the recycle bags are collected and sorted.

Street Monitors - Dale Folkestad Direct vendor traffic Friday evening, EARLY Saturday morning and Sunday evening at the festival closing.

Vendor Breakfast - *Open Position Organize a simple continental breakfast for the Vendors Sunday morning. Facilitate a raffle during the breakfast. Gifts for the raffle will be donated by Vendors and The Coupeville Festival Association.

Volunteer Lunch and Raffle - Linda Devitt Choose a menu and make reservations for a volunteer lunch. Sell raffle tickets during the Festival for the original poster artwork.

Volunteer Recruitment *Open Position The chair and members of this committee will work as liaisons to the community at large in both social and/or formal situations. The primary focus of this committee will be the recruitment of volunteers to assist with festival activities. The chair/members will work to schedule presentations at groups, clubs, organizations, or businesses. The presentations will include information about the Coupeville Festival Organization and it’s commitment to the guiding principles of historic preservation, promotion of the arts, and enhancement of the 98239 community. Presentations will also offer information about the different volunteer opportunities.
